
The Bachelor of Science in Information Technology degree is a unique 3-year programme, designed to prepare students for a professional career in applied computing, E-services and informatics, networks and security, Software development and Engineering, Artificial Intelligence and Machine learning, Research. This produces a BSc.IT graduate with knowledge needed in Information Technology and computing related fields, research and is able to undertake advanced study in computing and related fields.
The programme exposes students to a solid foundation in, software and hardware maintenance, database and data management, programming and software engineering, networks and security, E-service and informatics.
Design, develop and document useful programs/ software of moderate size and complexity, use efficient coding techniques, create maintainable and reusable code, work on a development team.
Analyze, design, configure, administer and audit computer networks.
Develop a business plan for an e-commerce initiative and design and implement an information system for e-business.
Discuss theories and philosophies of project success and failure, explain what project management is, discuss the key elements of the project management framework, describe the role and responsibilities of the project manager and describe the systems view of project management.
Be able to produce new and reliable knowledge through research.
Evaluate, analyze and suggest Information Technology solutions to the needs of business enterprises.
